Summer Nail Trends

With the lovely, sunny weather we are having at the moment we can be sure to think that Summer is fast approaching. It is at this time of year that we place our boots back in their boxes and bring out the summer sandals giving us girls an excuse to paint our fingers and toes in newest and freshest summer shades.

For the past few seasons, Chanel seems to have always been ahead of other beauty brands when bringing out new colours; we've had turqoise; we've had the muddy browny colour known as 'Particuliere' and this year is no different. Chanel has brought out its new summer shade, 'Mimosa' ; a light, but bright shade of yellow. Yes, that's right, Yellow. Unbelievable it may be but the colour to be seen waring this summer is infact yellow and as always Chanel have got it just right. The shade being not too florescent or dull, but bang on light, pretty and feminine with a slight sparkle. Perfect. However, this shade cannot just be slapped onto long nails, as beauty experts are advising to keep nails short and evenly shaped as long yellow nails are not a good look.

Along with 'Mimosa', Chanel is of course not just bringing out one new summer shade, but a small summer collection which includes a bright pink and a light beige. Which are in my eyes, a little more wearable and clolours I am more likely to choose. However, for those of you looking for something a little different or perhaps a little more daring it seems 'Mimosa' could be the colour for you.

This Week I love...

These Olivia Rubin zebra print shorts. Dressed up for night time glamour or down for casual daytime chic, these shorts are sure to be a winner in the style stakes. Hot to Trot or What?

These rust coloured heels by Carvela. Just the thing to take you from Spring to Summer (even if we're not quite there yet). Anyway who wouldn't want to risk cold feet to show off these little beauties.

The new 'nail effects' collection from Barry M. Like nail art, but a D.I.Y version, looks good and it save you the pennies you would spend on a manicure. I'm wearing the black one with a lilac base at the moment. It's 2 for £5 in Boots at the moment so get down there!!

The new Season Givenchy bag; the Antigona Tote. What's not to love? A great spring/ summer shape and size and even though it may not be as colourful as some of the other options out there at the moment, it is not boring either. Very sophisticated and suited for every occassion. YES PLEASE.

Liberty for Nike

The fashion retailer and famous London department store, Liberty have designed a new footwear collection for sportswear and trainer brand, Nike.

The collection specialises is Liberty's signiture vintage floral prints in an array of beautiful summery colours, perfect for all occassions. Coming in a range of low and high top form, there are sure to be a pair to suit everyone. This is not the first collection that Liberty and Nike have collaberated on, oh no! They have also composed two previous collections together, both proving to be extrememly successful, so successful in fact, that they feel it necessary to release a third, and I for one am not complaining!

I personally, am not a huge trainer-wearer myself. However, on this occassion i am certainly joining the rest of the trainer-wearing nation and raising my hand in favour. Now, I'm not exactly sure when I would wear them but all I know is that I HAVE to have them. I mean come on, which girl isn't a sucker for a ditsy floral print, especially when the master of floral print is designing them?

Even though they were relesased on the first of this month, other stores will be stocking the line from the 1st May and I am determind to get myself a pair...or maybe two.
