Back in November my friend and I booked tickets to go and see Olly Murs at the Hammersmith Apollo in May, and after months of waiting the day had finally arrived and we were beyond excited to say the least! We had a very wet journey to London, with the rain becoming even heavier when we got off the tube at Hammersmith, thunder and lightening included. However, as soaking as we may have been nothing could cloud over our excitement for the concert later all we could think of was OLLY OLLY OLLY.
After a super-sonic meal at Pizza express we literally 'legged' it down the road to the Apollo, joining many other just as excited fans in the queue outside and the even better news...the sun was shining! We got inside and got to our seats eagerly waiting for the show to start. There were two support acts before Olly himself, The Kixx, an male band from Reading and Wonderland an Irish girl group. Both did about four tracks each and really got the crowd going, with The Kixx even doing a meet and greet afterwards, proving to be very lovely indeed!

Then the wait was over and it was time for the main man; the reason we were all here, Olly Murs himself and when he came up those stairs the crowd went absolutely wild (as did we) screaming and chanting through the entire first songfrom the album, 'Change is Gonna Come'. The screaming did not end there either, Olly's dance moves sure made them twice as loud, with him even treating us to a much practised moonwalk across the stage!
He perfomed just about every track off the album as well as a couple of covers which were just as exciting, including an acoustic style cover of Jason Mraz's 'I'm Yours' which of course, had us all screaming the house down once again! With a quick change half way through, it was some very lucky person's turn to get to go up on stage ( this is the point we got very jealous we weren't on the front row) whilst we looked on from our balcony seats, which admittidly we very good; only a couple of rows from the front of the balcony.

He certainly lived up to all my expectations and more, and really put on a fantastic performance. He clearly does have a great voice, with all songs performed (to my ears anyway) perfectly, managing to dance around and play to the crowd whilst doing so. I would definitely go and see him again, it was not just a gig, but a show for all.
